Marin County Classified Employee of the Year - Congratulations to Jewel Barrow, the 2008 Marin County Classified Employee of the Year.  In her forty years at Tam, Jewel has mentored and supported teachers and staff and been an anchor to our school.  We're so proud of you, Jewel!

Marin County Citizen Award - Congratulations to Tam parent Bonnie Freiberg, winner of the Marin County School Admin Association’s Citizen Award for service to education in Marin.  Bonnie is a tireless volunteer and student advocate. Thank you Bonnie, and all the Tam volunteers who help make Tam a great school.

Shakespeare Scholar - Congratulations to English teacher Michael Pollard-Krause, who has been selected to participate in the National Endowment for the Humanities' Folger Shakespeare Library's Teaching Shakespeare Institute this summer.  Mike is one of twenty-five selected from a highly competitive field of applicants.

Tam Tennis Results - Tam Tennis closed its season with a first rate performance at the MCAL Individual Tournament and finalists in four out of the five events.   The team captured three championships: Junior Alex Kaiser (#2 Singles), Senior Eric Brandon and Sophomore Robert Greenberg (#2 Doubles), Freshman Zak Bohegian (#3 Singles) and Junior CJ Fazekas (2nd in #1 Singles).


Marin Athletic Foundation Outstanding Athletes - J.D. Rieger and Katie Schlueter have been named Tam's male and female outstanding student athlete by the Marin Athletic Foundation.  Congratulations JD and Katie!


Tam High Senior Wins Award In Peace Essay Contest - Jordan Harms won first place for his essay in the statewide competition in the National Peace Essay Contest.  Harms was among 47 high school seniors nationwide, who earned a $1,000 scholarship, for their winning essay on the relationship between natural resources and international conflict.  Harms is now eligible to compete in the national level contest in June, for a $10,000 scholarship. The essay contest is sponsored by the United States Institute of Peace, based in Washington D.C.  Congratulations Jordan!



CSPAN Teacher Fellow - Social studies teacher Aaron Pribble has been named one of three Teacher Fellows awarded by CSPAN for 2008.  He will spend the summer in Washington DC working with CSPAN and developing curriculum with other nationally recognized teachers.  Congratulations Mr. Pribble!


Girls Group - Have you ever felt pressured to do things you did not want to do or that you felt was wrong in order to please somebody else?  Come to Girls Group - a safe place to discuss these issues with other girls who have been through similar experiences.  Wednesdays during tutorial in Wood 125.  Stop by anytime for more info.

Welcome to Tamalpais High School
